Stone Social (ENS-native SM dapp)

Stone: A revolution in social media - monetize content, follow on-chain, manage profiles via ENS

Existing Issues and Our Objectives:

Issue 1: Social media is largely under the control of mega corporations that take most of the profits from advertising, leaving contributors and creators with a small part of the income they actually deserve.

Objective 1: We intend to challenge this imbalance by developing Stone, as a platform that puts creators first, ensuring they receive 100% share of the profits generated from their content.

Issue 2: Unpopular opinions can lead to being banned from many platforms.

Objective 2: We don't support hate speech, but we firmly believe in freedom of expression. We aim to build a platform where bans due to differences in opinion are impossible.

We aren't trying to replace other social media platforms. Instead, we're offering an alternative. By importing ENS text records, Stone followers can access all of a creator's social profiles. Our goal is to make Stone a constant, reliable space that's always there for users - a hub that promotes free expression and fair compensation for creators.

About Stone Stone is a decentralized social media app that combines social media, ENS, and NFTs on the Ethereum blockchain. Our focus is on enhancing user experiences, ensuring data security, and making interactions permanent. We aim to make Stone a symbol of fairness, resistance to censorship, and creator-focused interaction. By making sure every post is metaphorically 'set in stone', we emphasize our commitment to permanence, thus highlighting the secure nature of the blockchain.

Project Overview Stone takes advantage of the Arbitrum Layer 2 solution for Ethereum, providing high transaction speed and cost benefits, making the dapp more accessible to many users. Stone also uses an ENS-only sign-in system, improving online identity management and security.

Unique to Stone is the ability for users to follow others on-chain, providing a constant feed of posts and Ethereum transactions from their network. User profile management is simplified with the ENS manager, which directly imports all text records and avatars.

One key feature of Stone is its empowering ethos - the platform allows creators to keep all of their rewards, offering an escape from traditional content platforms where large fees eat into the creator's profits. In addition, we plan to charge a modest 1% fee from the minters of NFTs, ensuring that creators can keep their 100% share.

With a large enough user base, this business model could potentially sustain the platform's ecosystem without the need for advertisements. This way, Stone can offer a clean, user-friendly experience while ensuring its sustainability and growth.

Gas Fees Considerations: Each user action on Stone that changes the blockchain's state will have fees. However, by using Arbitrum, these fees will be small for human users but can quickly add up for bots, effectively serving as a natural barrier against bot activity.

User Journey In the Stone environment, each user-generated post becomes an immutable component of the Ethereum blockchain via Event logs. This feature ensures that every interaction, whether it's a significant historical occurrence or a compelling piece of text, is permanently captured on the blockchain. This immutable quality not only gives the posts an enduring presence but also paves the way for these posts to be transformed into NFTs.

Unique to Stone is the functionality to convert any post into an NFT. An image generator extracts data from the Event Log, converting the text into a visually captivating and unique NFT. This enables users to monetize their content, attracting speculators to purchase and trade these NFT moments on the secondary market. This unique feature transforms Stone from a mere social media platform into a vibrant marketplace for distinctive moments and creative content.

Project Roadmap Completed Stage: Prototype Development Developed an operational prototype utilizing React. Deployed two contracts on the testnet, one for the management of all posts and another for the transformation of event logs into NFTs.

Stage 2: Graph Protocol Implementation Plans to assimilate The Graph protocol to enhance the efficiency and speed of fetching event logs.. Continued testing and troubleshooting any potential issues or bugs that may surface.

Stage 3: User Interface Enhancement Endeavor to design and develop a captivating, user-centric interface, including front-end aesthetics and back-end usability. Strive to ensure that the design enhances the functionality of the dapp, enriching user experience and interaction.

Stage 4: Rigorous Testing and Bug Fixing Conduct meticulous testing of the entire application, including contracts and user interface. Identify and rectify any issues that may arise during the testing phase.

Stage 5: Mainnet Deployment and Launch Preparation for the mainnet launch, finalizing all aspects of the dApp. Conduct final tests before the deployment to the mainnet. Officially launch the dapp to the public.

Stage 6: Post-Launch Support and Updates Commitment to providing ongoing support and updates to ensure that the dapp continues to satisfy user expectations and adapt to changing market trends. Actively seek feedback from the user community for continuous improvement.

Conclusion Our ambition stretches far beyond simply building another social content platform. We are committed to transforming the way social content is crafted, shared, and financially rewarded. Through this, we hope to empower creators, respect users, and reshape the future of social media.
