Giveth - Building the Future of Giving

Empowering those who give - to projects, to society, and to the world

TL;DR

Giveth is onboarding real-world impact projects to web3 by empowering them with free access to novel fundraising mechanisms and new ecosystems of donors, while inspiring them to dive deeper down the blockchain rabbit hole.

Description

We’ve been making HUGE progress in 2023: We ran two quadratic funding rounds, brought our donation platform to six chains and networks, and launched loads of features including a project curation program, a rewards-based referral program, our own pfp collection, and our website in multiple languages. Now we’re working on optimizing our platform to attract more impact projects & new donors, while also setting our sights on DAOifying nonprofits.

Giveth.io is an open source, radically transparent, user-friendly donation platform that allows anyone to open crypto funding portals by creating projects for positive impact, with zero added fees and no intermediaries. Donors are also rewarded for giving to a wide range of projects that cover the field of for-good ventures such as feeding the homeless, funding community currency projects, and promoting planetary well-being. Want to support public goods? It's all on Giveth! Projects can be created in minutes; donors can make contributions in seconds. Currently Giveth is live on Ethereum Mainnet, Gnosis Chain, Polygon, Optimism, Celo, and Ethereum Classic.

100% of every donation goes directly to the project, and we reward donors to verified projects (and their referrers) with GIV. Learn more about our GIVbacks program here.

Major Updates

As we blaze into Q4 of 2023, we are delighted to announce some significant updates and future plans.

Major milestones achieved last quarter

  • Ran our 2nd successful quadratic funding round, raising $48,000 on Optimism for real world public goods and web3 impact projects.
  • Bridged our GIVbacks rewards program to Optimism so that Optimism donors can get rewarded with GIV on Optimism.
  • Brought GIV staking and corresponding project curation mechanism, GIVpower, to Optimism, thereby expanding token utility across multiple networks.
  • Added Ethereum Classic as a donation and fundraising option to Giveth, widening the reach of nonprofits raising funds to new ecosystems.
  • Integrated Wallet Connect v2 and optimized our dApp for mobile viewing, enabling anyone with a smartphone to donate and fundraise with ease.
  • Worked with IDriss to enable donations to Giveth projects through Twitter/X, thus giving nonprofits access to broad audiences through social media.
  • Optimized our multilingual donation platform so that when you connect in a Spanish- or Catalan-speaking region, Giveth will show up in the corresponding language.
  • Launched our first GIV-backed bonding curve, “Gurve”, a critical milestone on our roadmap towards supporting nonprofits in launching regenerative economies.

Upcoming Goals

The following is a list of new products, partnerships, and features that we have already begun building or are researching. Our ability to execute on these goals is dependent on fundraising and the success of our economy, so if you want to support the Future of Giving, please vote for us!

In Progress

  • Integrating Superfluid to enable recurring donations to projects on Giveth.
  • Improving our Gnosis Safe integration so DAOs and multisigs can more easily raise funds, manage funds, and donate.
  • Integrating other L1s and L2s to allow projects more options for fundraising.
  • Redesigning the Giveth homepage to separately target donors and projects, and performing A/B testing to enhance Giveth traction.
  • Enhancing the UX for browsing projects so that donors can navigate the dApp more easily.
  • Investigating new avenues for enabling fiat donations to projects.

In the Pipeline & Under Research

  • Improve our quadratic funding round UX so that multiple QF rounds can happen simultaneously.
  • Develop a “cart” checkout feature to enable bulk transaction donating on Giveth.
  • Develop Giveth Public APIs.
  • Build a space for project / donor discussion to promote transparency and encourage repeat donations.
  • Build a better project ranking system, integrating impact and project owner assessment.
