Description
Blobscan is the first blockchain explorer that helps to navigate and visualize shard blob transactions (e.i. EIP-4844), providing the necessary infrastructure to scale Ethereum.
Features
- Blob explorer - Explore shard transactions and delve into the blobs and the blocks encompassing them. Decode the blobs in various formats.
- Search Capabilities - Look up blobs by their versioned hash, kzg commitment, transaction hash, slot or block number, along with associated transactions and blocks.
- Blob persistence - For consistent availability even after pruning from the chain, blobscan supports storing blobs in multiple storage systems, both centralized (Google Cloud Storage) and decentralized (Eth Swarm).
- Rich analytics dashboard - Gain insights into blobs, blocks, and transactions. View diverse charts and metrics.
- Blob API - Blobscan's API facilitates queries on blobs, their associated blocks, and transactions, along with relevant statistics and metrics.
- Open-source - Blobscan is open-source and available to everyone.
Latest achieved milestones
- New documentation site: It offers an introduction to Blobscan's core features, installation guides, insights into the platform's functionalities, and a deep dive into its technical aspects.
- Web app improvements:
- New enriched details in blob, transaction, and block views.
- Redesigned homepage for deeper insights.
- New enriched stats and metrics view featuring interactive time series charts and new metrics, including gas expenditure comparison, blob price, blob fee, and blob usage.
- Blob persistence improvements: Introduced an advanced blob propagator service for more efficient duplication of blob data across various storage solutions.
- Blockchain Indexer Upgrade: Migrated to Rust for enhanced performance, robustness, and reliability.
- Explorer Integration in EIP-4844 Stack: Seamlessly incorporated into the EIP-4844 development suite. Notably integrated into ethPadOps's Helm charts for effortless Kubernetes deployment, with dedicated instances managed by the DevOps team.
- Kurtosis Integration: Our explorer is now a part of Kurtosis, a leading developer platform for packaging and launching comprehensive environments.
What’s next
- More convenient analytics: Enhance the user experience by introducing new metrics, statistics, and a variety of charts and tables.
- Indexer Improvements: Strengthen the indexer to be resilient against blockchain reorganizations.
- ENS Support: Implement ENS support for addresses involved in blob transactions.
- Comprehensive UI Enhancements: Upgrade the web app with a responsive, mobile-friendly interface, introducing new features such as: new page to showcase unconfirmed blob transactions, display real-time sync indicators, improved error messages, the addition of new blob decoding formats, etc.
- TS Library for Blob Transactions: A new TS library built on top of Viem specifically designed to simplify the creation and sending of blob transactions, complete with support in our web application.
- Expansion to New Storage Solutions: Plan to extend blob persistence to additional storage solutions such as Filecoin and AWS.
