Womenbiz is a community dedicated to bridging the gender gap in technology and empowering women in Latam through education and access to Web3 technologies. Founded with the vision of creating an inclusive and resilient community, Womenbiz has transformed the lives of hundreds of women by providing them with the tools and knowledge necessary to thrive in the digital economy. Since our inception, we have tirelessly worked to offer high-quality educational programs and create a strong support network for our participants.

IMPACT STORIES šŸ† WOMEN BIZ

  1. Latina Blockchain Hackathon (May 2024): Encouraged the creation of blockchain products by women in 13 Latam countries. Participation: 299 registrations, 70% women hackers, 64% new to blockchain.

Results: 124 hackers, 15 finalist projects, 10 winners.

Protocols and Mentorship: Throughout the hackathon, participants utilized and learned about protocols and platforms such as ENS, SheIsNear, Polygon, Dabl Club, ICP, Scroll, and Motiv.

  1. "Women in Web3" Bootcamp (March 2024): A 6-week program with live classes, mentorship, and challenges. Comprehensive training from fundamentals to Web3 product development.

Participation: 400 applications, 200 selected from 16 countries.

Platforms and Protocols Used: Participants worked with Optimism, 1inch, Zora, Coinbase, thirdweb, Mirror, Paragraph, MetaMask, Gitcoin, ENS, Giveth, Filecoin, Console, and Huddle. These tools were integral in providing a hands-on learning experience.

  1. "Web3 Revolution" Tour in Peru (2023): Workshops on blockchain, AI, and new technologies. Attendees: Over 600 students, most of whom were introduced to Web3 for the first time. Regions: Visits to 7 cities including Cajamarca, Piura, Arequipa, Chiclayo, Trujillo, Cusco, and Tacna.

WHAT'S COMING:

  1. Bootcamp Women in Web3 - II Edition: Building on the success of our first edition, this bootcamp will delve deeper into Web3 technologies, offering women an intensive learning experience.
  2. Latina Blockchain Hackathon - II Edition: Our second edition of this hackathon aims to bring together innovative minds from across LATAM to solve real-world problems using blockchain technology.
  3. Specialized Bootcamps: DEFI, Development, Governance, and Data Analytics: Tailored bootcamps focusing on Decentralized Finance (DEFI), blockchain development, governance, and data analytics to provide women with specialized skills.
  4. Launch of Our First Women Biz Dapp Focused on Gamification and Education: We're excited to announce the development of our first decentralized application (dapp) designed to combine gamification with educational modules, making learning about Web3 fun and engaging.

With this support, we will expand into more cities across LATAM, enabling us to compensate our team and continue organizing tailored hackathons and bootcamps. These initiatives are designed to educate and attract more women to the Web3 ecosystem. Additionally, the grant will help us enhance our digital infrastructure, develop new learning resources, and strengthen our community outreach efforts. This funding is crucial for scaling our impact and achieving our mission of bridging the gender gap in technology.
