About Vietnam
Vietnam, a country where the mainland is located in the Indochina peninsula, has a population of almost 100 million and an energetic youth demographic.
Vietnam's Technology Acceptance
Vietnamese people have a strong passion for technology and a great environment for technology development. One of the biggest targets it wants to achieve in 2030 is to make technology a breaking point for its economy.
Some notable numbers for it:
Internet penetration rate: 73.2 % of the population (https://datareportal.com/reports/digital-2022-vietnam )
Technology excitement: 46% of Vietnamese respondents willingly apply technology in their works (https://www.pwc.com/vn/en/publications/2021/pwc-vietnam-digital-readiness-report-en.pdf)
Global Cybersecurity Index Rank: 50th (https://opengovasia.com/vietnam-ranks-25-in-global-cybersecurity-index/)
Vietnam and Blockchain
Blockchain is very familiar to young people in Vietnam. We welcome such new innovations.
According to recent research published by @ChainAnalysis, Vietnam is ranked 1st in Global Crypto Adoption Rate for the second consecutive year. Our trading volume and interaction with centralized and decentralized services are very significant. That does not take into account NFT sectors. I believe this is just the beginning and I can't imagine how big it will be once the mass adoption happens. (https://blog.chainalysis.com/reports/2022-global-crypto-adoption-index/)
How about the builders? Popular projects such as Kyber Network, SkyMavis (Axie Infinity), Coin98, NEM Blockchain, Tomochain, etc. were founded or contributed hugely by Vietnamese builders.
Some international universities such as FPT or RMIT include Blockchain in their curriculum as a compulsory subject.
Why Vietnamese Localization Matters
Web3 domains acquisition is a growing demand for people in Vietnam after the 10k Club exploded. People are looking for opportunities in this sector. This is an example showing: https://twitter.com/search?q=anh%20em%20domain&src=typed_query&f=live
The demand for domains has just started early this year so there is room for growth. Right now only the pioneers are collecting special Vietnamese domains. Some trade the names and some keep the names as their web3 identities. Big corporations are not stepping into it because of regulation, but as mentioned above, with the openness to crypto in Vietnam, they will start acquiring their names.
Localization has been proven to successfully encourage buyers to spend on the products. It will Vietnamese speakers use ens.domains easily to search, acquire and manage the names. And especially, they will understand the meaning and full utilities of ENS
